Areas of Speciality
-
Women often face unique societal pressures that impact their sense of self, from body image concerns to balancing personal and professional lives. I help women reconnect with their inner strength, heal past wounds, and create a life that feels aligned with their values and desires. Together, we explore topics like self-worth, self-expression, and setting healthy boundaries, so you can step into your power with confidence and grace.
-
For women on a spiritual path, navigating personal growth and spiritual awakening can feel isolating or overwhelming at times. I work with women who are seeking a deeper connection to themselves and the world around them. Whether you are exploring mindfulness, transpersonal experiences, or simply yearning for a more soul-centered life, I create a space where your spiritual journey is honored and nurtured.
-
Women who strive to be “perfect” often carry the burden of anxiety, stress, and self-criticism. If you find yourself stuck in cycles of overachievement and worry, therapy can help you break free. I work with women to shift these patterns, offering tools for self-compassion, mindful awareness, and learning to let go of unrealistic expectations—so you can experience more peace and joy in everyday life.
-
As a creative or soul-centered entrepreneur, your work is deeply personal and can feel like an extension of your identity. This makes the challenges of business—like self-doubt, fear of failure, or burnout—even more impactful. I help women in creative fields or running purpose-driven businesses find balance, clarity, and confidence. Together, we’ll explore ways to overcome inner obstacles, tap into your unique gifts, and create a life and business that align with your soul’s calling.
About Sarah Byrd
I’m Sarah Byrd, a therapist, photographer, and coach dedicated to helping women heal, grow, and reconnect with your true self. With a background in clinical counseling and mindfulness-based practices, I specialize in working with women who are ready to break free from old patterns, embrace their inner strength, and create lives filled with purpose and joy.
I’m currently a Clinical Counseling Master’s student at Naropa University (MA Candidate), where I focus on mindfulness-based and transpersonal approaches to therapy. Naropa’s integration of contemplative practice and psychology aligns deeply with my values of healing through mind, body, and spirit. In addition, I’m pursuing a Master’s in Psychology at Harvard University (ALM Candidate), allowing me to bring a well-rounded, integrative perspective to my work. As a pre-licensed professional, I am continually growing my clinical skills, providing therapeutic services under supervision while staying committed to the most up-to-date, evidence-based approaches.
I’ve also created a therapy companion journal called Unfolding, designed to support your healing journey. This journal offers thoughtful prompts and reflections to help you explore your inner world and integrate our therapy sessions into your daily life. It’s a tool for self-discovery, growth, and deepening your connection with yourself.
My approach to therapy is compassionate, holistic, and deeply rooted in mindfulness, helping you tap into your own inner wisdom to navigate life’s challenges. Whether you’re facing anxiety, perfectionism, or seeking a deeper sense of purpose, I offer a safe, supportive space where you can heal and grow at your own pace.
In addition to therapy, I offer branding photography for therapists and coaching services for women looking to build soul-centered businesses. Whether we’re in a therapy session or collaborating on a photoshoot, my goal is always the same: to help you see yourself clearly, honor your unique journey, and step into the fullness of who you are.
When I’m not working, you can find me in nature, practicing mindfulness, or exploring new ways to nurture my own growth and creativity. I look forward to walking alongside you on your journey.

Every session is designed to meet you where you are. Whether you're facing stress, anxiety, relationship challenges, or simply want to deepen your connection with yourself, I’ll create a therapeutic experience that’s right for you.
Support Every Step of the Way
Healing is a journey, and I’ll be with you every step of the way. My goal is to create a space where you feel safe, understood, and empowered to create lasting change.
Therapeutic Approaches
-
Mindfulness is at the core of my practice. By focusing on present-moment awareness, mindfulness helps you develop a deeper understanding of your thoughts, emotions, and body. In our sessions, you’ll learn how to observe your inner world without judgment, cultivating self-compassion and reducing stress.
-
Transpersonal counseling integrates spirituality with psychological healing. This approach goes beyond the personal self to explore the deeper aspects of consciousness, helping you connect with your inner wisdom, find meaning, and align with your higher self. It’s ideal for those on a spiritual journey or seeking a deeper connection to life’s purpose.
-
Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a powerful approach that helps you explore and heal the different "parts" of yourself. We all have various inner parts—such as the inner critic, protector, or wounded child—that influence how we feel and behave. In IFS, we work to understand these parts, give them a voice, and heal any internal conflicts they may cause. This process fosters greater self-awareness, self-compassion, and integration, helping you feel more whole and at peace.
-
This approach emphasizes the power of self-compassion and kindness in the healing process. Many women struggle with self-criticism and perfectionism, and compassion-focused therapy helps shift these patterns by building a more nurturing and accepting relationship with yourself.
-
Gestalt therapy focuses on present-moment awareness and personal responsibility. In our sessions, we’ll explore your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors to better understand how they interact in the here and now. This approach helps you gain insight into your own patterns and empowers you to make conscious choices that lead to healing and growth.
-
The stories we tell ourselves shape our identity and how we experience the world. Narrative therapy helps you identify and rewrite the stories that no longer serve you. Together, we’ll explore your personal narrative, empowering you to reframe your experiences in ways that honor your growth and resilience.
-
CBT helps you identify and change unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors that contribute to anxiety, stress, and other challenges. In our work, we’ll explore how your thoughts influence your emotions and actions, and you’ll gain practical tools for reframing negative beliefs and cultivating healthier habits.
-
ACT encourages you to accept difficult thoughts and emotions instead of fighting them. By focusing on your core values, ACT helps you take meaningful action, even in the face of discomfort. This approach fosters psychological flexibility, allowing you to navigate challenges with greater resilience, clarity, and alignment with your deeper self.
Get Started
When a therapist and client are on the same page, therapy is a better experience and is more likely to be helpful to you. Below are some logistics of what it’s like to work together and things that are important for you to know. If, after reading this, you think I’m a good fit for your needs, there are instructions for getting started at the bottom of the page.
-
I work with adult women and individuals who identify as women (18 and older) seeking support in navigating life’s challenges.
I exclusively offer individual therapy at this time, but will share any group therapy programs when they become available.
-
If you're interested in working together, start by filling out the New Client Inquiry form below. This form gives me insight into your needs and helps us determine if we’re a good fit.
Once the form is submitted, you’ll be invited to schedule a free 15-minute consultation with me. This call is an opportunity for us to address any questions, discuss logistics, and ensure that I’m the right therapist to support your goals.
During the consultation, we’ll talk through your needs, and if we both agree to move forward, I’ll set you up in my secure client portal. From there, you can choose your weekly session time and complete the necessary intake and consent forms.
Before each session, you'll receive an email with a link to our secure video session if you choose virtual therapy.
-
Sessions are $120 per 50-minute session.
I offer a limited number of sliding scale spots based on financial need. If you feel you qualify, we can discuss this during our consultation or in the intake process.
-
I am currently a Master's in Clinical Counseling student, and a pre-licensed professional therapist, so do not accept insurance. However, I can provide you with a bill to submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement if your plan covers out-of-network providers.
-
I offer therapy both in-person and online.
In-person sessions take place in a private, welcoming office in Highlands Ranch, CO.
For those outside the area or who prefer the convenience of remote sessions, I also provide secure video therapy.
-
In our initial sessions, I'll take time to get to know you, understand your challenges, and clarify your therapy goals. By the end of our first or second session, I’ll share my perspective on your situation and how I can best support you in your healing journey.
As we continue, we’ll focus on the areas you want to work on most, and I’ll guide you through personalized strategies and insights to create meaningful change. We’ll regularly check in on your progress to make sure you’re moving in a direction that feels right for you.
During our sessions, you can expect a hands-on approach with mindfulness exercises and experiential learning to help you directly apply what we explore together. This might feel new at first, but it’s essential for growth. I'll also provide simple practices for you to integrate into your daily life between sessions, ensuring that your healing continues beyond our time together.
